An interactive sketchbook / three sides of my work
A robot starts with an imperfect view of the world. Images and sensor readings are the raw material for perception.

03 / ROBOTICS
Robotics · Geometry
Turning distance-sensor observations into line-based maps using split-and-merge geometry in a Webots environment.
Computer vision · Interactive systems
A real-time rock–paper–scissors referee with a custom gesture dataset, YOLOv8 detection, and checks for late gesture changes.
Professional work · Data engineering
Crawling, parsing, media processing, and delivery workflows. Engineering the handoffs between services, from message queues to structured storage.
B.Sc. thesis · Privacy research
Studying browser fingerprinting through script collection, dataset construction, and evaluation of detection methods.
Behind the systems
A working pipeline is more than a successful request. I’m interested in what happens between discovery and delivery: how services share data, recover from failures, and stay understandable as they grow.
Web Data Extraction Engineer · EXABuilding crawlers and scheduling workflows that turn incoming tasks into structured, actionable data.
Separating extraction, parsing, and database writing; defining versioned data models for downstream consumers.
Working with message queues, retry and failure handling, streaming media downloads, and storage interfaces.

MATIN / OUTSIDE THE CODE03 / A little about me
I’m Mohammad Matin Momeni Ravandi, a Computer Engineering graduate of Shahid Beheshti University. My interest in computers started with games and grew into a curiosity about how things work—and how to build them myself.
Robotics pulled those interests together: geometry, code, hardware, and the challenge of making a system respond to the world. Alongside that, I’ve found a lot to enjoy in the less visible craft of software: good interfaces, reliable data flows, and careful debugging.
Beyond the screen, I’m into films, running, music, and games. I have a particular soft spot for Soulsborne games: the exploration, the atmosphere, and the satisfaction of finally getting past a difficult boss.
